Province Sends Reminders About Ice Fishing

Ice fishing season is officially underway across New Brunswick.

Designated inland, tidal and international waters are open for ice fishing until March 31st.

The province has a few reminders for those wanting to take part.

Ice fishing licences are required and can be bought online, at authorized vendors or at Service New Brunswick.

The cost is 23-dollars for residents and $26.45 for non-residents.

Owners of ice fishing shelters most post their name and address clearly on the outside.

They must also mount shelters on skids or runners for easy removal and dispose properly of all waste on land.

Shelters must be removed by April 2nd or before the spring thaw, whichever comes first.
