Province, Dieppe Jointly Invest $5 Million In Two Infrastructure Projects

The provincial government is investing $2 million in two infrastructure projects in Dieppe with the city contributing the remaining $3 million.

Treasury Board President Roger Melanson says the first project is an upgrade of Industrial Street, including widening, repaving, and replacing sanitary and storm sewer systems.

“The system that’s all underground, where some people say it’s not sexy, all of the infrastructure that’s underground is not seen by residents, but it’s essential these infrastructure are being invested in,” says Melanson.

Meanwhile, the other project is Phase 2 of an extension project on Rue du College “that will be going from Rue Champlain all the way to Rue Gauvin.”

Melanson adds a new roundabout is also being built at the intersection of Gauvin Road and Rue du College.

“So we have a better flow of traffic, obviously it increases safety of either pedestrians or even vehicles that are circulating,” says Melanson. “And it’s going to be able to manage the entire traffic flow in the downtown Dieppe.”
