It’s official, Prime Minister Stephen Harper has met with Governor General David Johnston to spark an 11 week election campaign and dissolve the current parliament.
It will be the longest campaign in over 8 decades.
A debate will be held between party leaders on Thursday in Toronto.
Voting day will be held on Monday, October 19th.
The former Chief Electoral Officer Jean-Pierre Kingsley is critical of the length of the campaign, saying it will increase the cost from 25-50 million dollars.
