Premier Brian Gallant introduced legislation today to create what he says will be a private-sector driven, client-focused new crown corporation called Opportunities NB.
He says it’s not about politics, or civil servant; rather, it’s about growing the economy.
A cabinet-level committee, the New Brunswick Jobs Board, will set the general direction, while Opportunities NB will focus on sectors where significant economic growth is occuring.
Gallant called it a chance to learn from both the successes and shortcomings of other economic development agencies including Invest NB.
