PowerSchool data breach did not impact N.B. schools: province

New Brunswick school districts are not affected by a data breach involving a United States company.

PowerSchool is used by several districts throughout our province and across North America.

The application manages student information such as grades, attendance and schedules.

Over the holidays, PowerSchool became aware of a data breach involving unauthorized access to certain information.

A spokesperson for New Brunswick’s Department of Education told our newsroom a forensic investigation revealed data from our province was not impacted.
