Poutine Fest is Back… and My Stretchy Pants Are Ready

If you needed a sign to get out and support local… this is it. Poutine Fest is rolling back into Greater Moncton as part of Feast Atlantic, and this year there are 20+ local participants serving up their wildest creations. Honestly—there’s no better excuse to eat fries covered in absolutely everything.

Last year, I made it my personal mission (a very serious one, obviously) to try as many poutines as humanly possible. I got through five… and I regret nothing. Each one completely different, completely over-the-top, and somehow each one convinced me it was “the best one so far.” It’s a dangerous game.

And just when I thought I’d seen it all… I stumbled across an Ice Cream Apple Poutine at the Dieppe Market. Yep. You read that right. Sweet, cold, crunchy, gooey chaos—and somehow it worked. That’s the magic of this festival. It’s not just poutine… it’s creativity on a plate.

This year, Feast Atlantic is bringing that same energy back across Greater Moncton—restaurants, markets, and local spots all putting their own spin on Canada’s most iconic comfort food. You’ll find everything from classic gravy-and-curds perfection to wild creations loaded with meats, sauces, and toppings you didn’t even know belonged on fries (until now).

And here’s the thing—it’s not just about the food (okay… it’s mostly about the food). It’s about getting out, visiting local restaurants, discovering spots you haven’t tried yet, and supporting the people who keep our food scene alive. Every bite is basically a high-five to local business.

So here’s the plan:

Hit a few spots. Try something classic. Try something ridiculous. Bring a friend so you can “share” (we all know how that goes). And most importantly—don’t skip the weird ones. Those are usually the ones you end up talking about all year.

I’m already mapping out my route… and yes, I fully plan on beating last year’s record of five poutines. Ambitious? Sure. Worth it? Absolutely. Follow me on my Social for more!
