Postal Strikes in 7 N.B. Communities

Postal workers in several New Brunswick communities are walking the picket lines Wednesday.

Rotating strikes by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers have hit Fredericton, St. Stephen, Woodstock, Miramichi, Acadie-Bathurst, Campbellton and Edmundston.

A major processing centre for Canada Post in Toronto has also been shut down by CUP-W members for the second time since their job action started on Oct. 22.

Canada Post admits this latest action will only worsen the backlogs experienced during the first walkout in October.

Strike action is also taking place today in 11 other Ontario communities and two in Quebec.
