Codiac RCMP are investigating after a resident of Highlandview Road in Lewisville reported hearing what they though was a gunshot around 7:30 Friday morning.
A short time later, police were told a man around 40-years-old was in hospital being treated for a leg injury.
Mounties are trying to determine if there is a connection.
Witnesses on Highlandview Road reported seeing a dark-coloured Jeep leaving the area shortly before police arrived.
