UPDATE: Search Conducted In Connection With Double Homicide

A search was conducted in the Jones Lake area of Moncton’s west end on Wednesday as part of the investigation into the double homicide of a Dieppe couple in September.

RCMP were searching for evidence related to the deaths of 78-year-old Bernard Saulnier and 74-year-old Rose-Marie Saulnier.

Their bodies were found in their home on Amirault Street in Dieppe on September 7.

Officers around Jones Lake could be seen with metal detectors and other items in their search of the brush around the lake.

A police dog was also brought in.

Police do not believe the deaths were random occurrences.

RCMP Corporal Jullie Rogers-Marsh says anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the RCMP’s Major Crime Unit at 506-857-2400.

You can also provide information without using your name through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or www.crimenb.ca
