UPDATED: Police Locate Body In Search For Missing Man

Police say they have located a body during a search for a missing 45-year-old man from Kent County.

Mounties said the man was last seen near the community of St. Margaret’s on May 14.

He was reported missing to police on Saturday and police asked for help to locate him on Sunday.

Mounties said the Miramichi Police Force located a body inside a vehicle associated with the missing man in a parking lot near Route 11 on Sunday.

“An autopsy has been scheduled to positively identify the body, and to determine the cause of death,” police said in a news release.

“At this time, police do not believe criminality to be a factor.”

Editor’s note: A previous update from police indicated that positive identification had already occurred, which was incorrect.
