Plane Makes Unexpected Landing Due To Medical Issue

An Air Canada plane was forced to divert and land at the Greater Moncton Romeo Leblanc International Airport earlier today.

The 787 was on its way from Zurich to Toronto.

Airport Spokesperson Julie Pondant says it was due to a medical issue, and the plane was only on the ground for a short time, before departing again.

She adds this is a common practice because Moncton is one of the first entry points for planes coming into Canada, and if there is a need, they will choose to land in Greater Moncton.
