PEI Man Charged Following Armed Robbery In Moncton

Codiac RCMP have charged a 25-year-old man from Prince Edward Island following an armed robbery in Moncton.

Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at a gas station on Main Street, at around 4:30 a.m. on February 14th.

They say a man walked into the gas station armed with a weapon and demanded money from the cashier.

Nobody was injured but the man left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Shortly after, police located a 25-year-old just a few blocks away.

Aaron Charles Lea has been charged with robbery and failing to comply with a probation order.

He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court this afternoon for his bail hearing.
