PCs to elect new leader in October 2026

New Brunswick’s next Progressive Conservative leader will be elected on Oct. 17, 2026.

The party’s provincial council has approved the rules governing the leadership election process.

Officials said the election process will officially begin later this year on Oct. 20.

Those interested in running for the party leadership will have until June 19, 2026, to apply.

Voting will take place by mail only, and electors must become a party member by Aug. 14, 2026, in order to vote.

Saint John East MLA Glen Savoie has been serving as interim leader since Blaine Higgs resigned after last fall’s election loss.
