PC Leader Pledges To Improve Literacy Rates In This Province

PC Leader Blaine Higgs chose the Kennebacasis Public Library to unveil part one of a two-phase education platform.

Higgs says a PC government is pledging to have 85 percent of students meet or exceed Grade two reading standards by 2022, and that the Grade 8 class of 2022 will be top three in the country in literacy and math. Higgs says a five-part plan would be needed.

Higgs says ” The Literacy rate in New Brunswick is an embarrassment that we cannot put up with any longer.”
