PC Leader and Premier Clash Over The Carbon Tax

The PC Leader went after the Premier in the Legislature over the carbon tax plan being imposed on us by Ottawa.

Blaine Higgs quoted an interview from Saint John-Rothesay MP about when the Premier new the NB plan would not fly with Justin Trudeau.

“Do we believe Wayne Long and his statement that the premier has known for a long time that basically it was not going to accepted, it would be rejected, or do we believe the Premier who has been talking for months that it would be accepted,” stated Higgs.

Premier Gallant told the house he made several media statement about it.

” We thought the consumer part of our carbon plan action plan would not apply, Mr. Speaker I said that it should comply, I said I would stand up to do everything we could to have it comply,” stated the premier.

Ottawa announced earlier in the week it would be imposing a carbon tax on New Brunswick with components starting in January and April.
