A proposed mixed-use development behind the Capitol Theatre will mean the loss of 117 municipal and private parking spaces in downtown Moncton.
The City of Moncton is de-commissioning the parking lot on July 4 and turning it into a one-way street.
Seymour Street should open in August and will link Church and Robinson Streets.
The new street will have 22 on-street parking spaces for hourly usage.
A developer wants to construct a six storey building at 200 Robinson Street with ground floor retail/commercial space, apartments and underground parking.
City officials say all monthly parking clients have been offered alternative parking spots at other municipal parking lots.
