The faculty and students at Oulton College in Moncton have launched a fundraising campaign to build a school in Haiti as part of the institution’s 60th anniversary next year.
Oulton College spokesperson Ryan Sargent says faculty formed a committee and partnered with an international organization to help make the project happen.
“After discussions with the organization about what we can do and how we can contribute, we decided we wanted to work with them and Haiti was the place our project was best suited for.”
Sargent says the campaign goal is to raise $25,000.
Two faculty members are in Haiti this weekend delivering school supplies, visiting the proposed school site and meeting the students.
