Opposition Want Answers On Canaport LNG Tax Bill

We’ll be hearing a lot more on the inflated property tax assessments tomorrow. That’s when provincial Auditor-General Kim MacPherson will be presenting her report in the Legislature.

Conservative M-L-A Sherry Wilson of Moncton Southwest says the Opposition also wants to know more about why Canaport LNG’s tax bill was cut by two-thirds, saving Irving Oil over $5 million a year.

Wilson says the provincial government hired a firm from New Jersey to carry out the assessment and Premier Brian Gallant denies having any knowledge about that.
