Several people wearing red gathered in front of MP Ginette Petitpas Taylor’s office this afternoon.
They expressed their disappointment over the federal government’s decision to purchase the Kinder Morgan pipeline.
Helen Chenell says they all have very strong feelings against this decision, “Outrage over taxpayers dollars in the sum of $4.5 billion being given to a Texas oil giant to buy out a pipeline that they clearly wanted to get rid of.”
She says this is a great opportunity to come face to face with an elected MP to express their disapproval.
“If we asked Canadians, if the government offered them the money, none of them would say they would going to purchase a 64 year old pipeline,” Chenell says.
Similar call to action events are happening today at over 90 MP offices across the country….
“We should be using this money to address a number of other concerns that this country is facing, including healthcare, homelessness, housing, veterans, seniors and students issues.”
