Certain types of onions are being recalled because of a major salmonella outbreak.
The Public Health Agency of Canada says not to use any red, white, yellow, and sweet yellow onions from Thomson International Inc. of Bakersfield, California, or any products made with them.
They say if you don’t know where an onion was grown, don’t eat it.
There are now over 200 cases of salmonella in Canada linked to this outbreak. Most of the confirmed cases of salmonella are in Alberta and British Columbia, but a few people in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec and Prince Edward Island have reported getting sick.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has been looking into this outbreak linked to Thomson red onions since July 24.
