It took 13 firefighters a little over an hour to easily put out a fire at a two storey house on Dominion Street last night.
Platoon Chief Dennis Dollemont says they received reports of smoke and flames visible on the second storey around 10 o’clock.
“There was minimal smoke and water damage, the fire was pretty much contained to that one bedroom on the second storey,” says Dollemont.
He says one person was home at the time, and they unsuccessfully tried to extinguish the fire with a bucket of water.
They were taken to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
Fire investigators are examining the scene to determine a cause.
