One dead following single-vehicle crash near Dieppe

A 28-year-old Shediac woman has died following a crash in Lakeville early Saturday morning.

At approximately 3:20 a.m., members of the Shediac RCMP responded to a 911 crash notification on Route 15 in Lakeville.

According to a release from the RCMP, officers arrived on scene and located a vehicle engulfed in flames.

The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, died at the scene as a result of her injuries.

The crash is believed to have happened when the vehicle was travelling westbound on Route 15 and crossed the centre line, entering a construction zone where it collided head-on with a parked vehicle.

Members of the Dieppe Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, Sackville RCMP and an RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene.

The New Brunswick coroner’s office is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
