Old Currency Stolen From Moncton Business

An investigation is underway after break in at a local business, where collectors bills were stolen.

Early Saturday morning, officers responded to alarms at a Main Street business that sells old and rare coins and currency.

Codiac RCMP determined that the suspects had stolen a number of one and two dollar bills that circulated in the mid to late 1980’s.

Reports have already been made to police that some of the stolen bills have been used to make purchases in the city.

Business owners are encouraged to keep an eye out and to contact police if a customer attempts to use the older currency.
