W Bruce Tower

1942 – 2026

With sadness we announce the passing of W. Bruce Tower on April 8, 2026. Born in Salmon Creek NB he was the only child of Warren and Kathleen Tower.

At age 17, he became a student telegrapher in Berry Mills. He finished the course in 1960 and after writing the rules, telegraph test, Morse code and medical he was sent to his first job in Coldbrook NB.

He worked at many railway stations throughout NB as a station agent with CN. After his daughter and son were born, he became a rail traffic controller where he worked for 39 years with CN until his retirement.

Bruce was a member of the Acacia Lodge No. 49 F&AM as well as a member of the Scottish Rite for over 60 years.

Bruce was a quiet man who preferred to be at home with his wife of 57 years who he loved dearly. He had a keen interest in all things historical and loved the outdoors.

He was predeceased by his parents, Warren Tower and Kathleen Tower, his wife, Mary, and daughter Carrie.

Bruce is survived by his son and daughter, Robert Tower and Mary-Beth Tower Jaillet. Also survived by his grandchildren, Adrienne Jaillet, Dylan Jaillet, Lindsay Sherwood Jamie Jacques.

Arrangements are entrusted with Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center,330 Whitepine Road, Riverview ( 506 869 2007). There will be a graveside service held at Fairhaven memorial Gardens on Friday, April 17 at 11:30 AM.
