Sandra Jean Foreman-Webb

1944 – 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected, but peaceful death of Sandra Foreman-Webb on March 27, 2026. Born in Stanley, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Jean (nee Douglass) Hurley.

Sandra held many fond memories from growing up in rural New Brunswick in the village of Stanley.  She grew up playing basketball and this is where the foundation for her work ethic, drive for excellence and deep appreciation for friendship was established.  Her career path was a bit of a winding road with pit stops along the way that paved the future for the next and picked up groups of wonderful friends along the way.  Her time at Mount Royal Church as the church secretary and becoming a member of the UCW (United Church Women) as well as leading the CGIT (Canadian Girls In Training) was a very special time and those people played a significant role in establishing Sandra in the community in Moncton, NB.  Mount Royal Church became and still is a place where she has always felt at home.

It is in Moncton where she spent the most significant time raising her family and where most of her career was spent teaching or helping people.  It was after some challenging life moments that Sandra almost completely re-invented herself.  Returned to school and obtained her first degree from now Crandall University, a diploma in adult education from St. FX and the Teaching English Second Language certificate at Saint Mary’s University which ultimately led to her most rewarding career stint as the English Second Language coordinator for School District 2.  This is where she thrived and thoroughly enjoyed helping families integrate into not only the school community, but the greater Moncton community whether it be finding them hockey equipment or driving to Fredericton to help coordinate immigration applications.

It was also during this time that Gil came into her life and helped start a chapter that would become one of the happiest for her.  They enjoyed travel, special time with friends, golf and bowling together.  They adored travelling and Gil was game for anything so she had found her perfect travelling companion.  They covered the globe including Hawaii, Portugal and Mexico.  An annual trip to Alberta was essential in order to visit family, see the mountains and she always made time to take in the horse races in Edmonton.

Apart from her career, family was her priority.  She was very proud of all of her children and grand-children’s accomplishments in their studies and in their sports.  She travelled Atlantic/Western Canada to watch it all.  Hockey, Baseball, Basketball, Football and Soccer.   She would even host and cook meals for full teams during tournaments and road trips.  This love of sports stemmed from her own success as a basketball player in Stanley, NB where she played in high school on a very special team of young ladies who are remembered and celebrated in a book about the history of basketball in New Brunswick.  She encouraged and instilled the lessons that you learn from participating in team sport to her children and now those values live on in her grand-children and great grand-children.  She believed and promoted hard work above all else, never giving up and being the best teammate.

She will be dearly missed by her sons Terry (Karen) and Jeff (Jennifer) Foreman, daughter Andrea (Brad) Thompson, brother Danny (Deborah) Hurley, grandchildren Rebecca (Matt), Brittany, Meghan (Caleb), Kate (Matt), Connor, Ryan, Jett, Ben, and Olivia, great-grandchildren Myles, Tate, Isla, Wren, and Stevie, her very close cousin Heather Jane, nieces Jennifer and Jill and Nephews Mark and Michael.  She will also be missed by her beloved Gil’s children and their families: Tim (Carolyn), Mark, and Peggy (Paul), Isaac, Aidan, Owen, Laurel, Klayton, and Dawson.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Gilbert Webb and her brother Arthur Hurley.

Her family will receive friends and relatives at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd, Riverview (506-869-2007) on Monday, April 6th from 1-3pm and 6-8pm. A funeral service in her honour will be held at Mount Royal United Church on Tuesday, April 7th at 11am with a reception to follow. Donations in her memory may be made to Mount Royal United Church.
