NS RCMP Cleared Fatal Car Crash That Left A Moncton Man Dead

Nova Scotia RCMP have been cleared of any wrongdoing in a high speed chase that resulted in the death of a 59-year old Moncton man.

On March 3rd of this year, officers in Lower Sackville were called about a possible impaired driver, and began a pursuit after the suspect fled north on Highway 102.

The pursuit continued to Truro, and further east off the 100 series highway, where officers ended the chase.

Eleven minutes later, a call to 911 reported a crash on Pictou Road, in East Mountain – and officers determined it was the same vehicle and the driver was dead.

The investigation by the Serious Incident Response Team concluded the police chase ended well in advance of the crash – and therefore was not a a contributing factor.
