Nova Scotia Police Foil Mass Shooting Plot In Halifax

A plot to carry out a mass shooting on Valentine’s Day in Halifax has been foiled by police in Nova Scotia.

The Halifax Regional Police say information came forward Thursday morning suggesting a 19-year-old man from Timberlea and a 23-year-old woman from Geneva, Illinois had access to guns and planned on going to a public venue in the city to kill citizens and then themselves. It was also believed that two other men, ages 17 and 20, were involved in the plan.

The Emergency Response Team found the 19-year-old man dead at a home at Tiger Maple Avenue and the Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team is investigating the death. Later, the woman and the 20-year-old man were arrested at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport and the 17-year-old was arrested at a home in Cole Harbour.

Police say they’re not looking for anyone else in connection with the case. However, they’re asking the public to report anything suspicious to them.
