FREDERICTON, N.B. – A notorious New Brunswick Mountie – who smoked medical marijuana while in uniform – has pleaded guilty to three charges.
Corporal Ron Francis, currently on medical leave from the RCMP, changed his pleas to guilty on two counts of assaulting fellow officers and one count of resisting arrest.
Three other charges were withdrawn in Fredericton court today.
Francis, a Maliseet from Kingsclear First Nation, created controversy when he began smoking medical marijuana in uniform.
Francis will be sentenced on November 3rd.
