Note Raises Concern At Bernice MacNaughton High School

School officials say it will be business as usual at Bernice MacNaughton High School today, after an incident on Friday raised some concern, and the threat assessment protocol was put into place.

Parents received two messages over the weekend. This first on Friday, stating that information was received that resulted in their threat assessment protocol being activated, as a precaution.

An update last night, that the reason for the concern, was after a note that was received. No further details were given, only that an investigation was done by administration, district personnel and police, and officials say it was a low level risk.

The message also stated that there will be some police presence at the facility today as a precaution.

In an email to our newsroom, one parent stated that she will be keeping her son home today, and says many other parents will be doing the same, as a result of the incident.

We have contacted the District for further comment and are awaiting a response.
