Not Just Extras, But Crew Also Stiffed On Set Of “Dominion”

It looked so promising and exciting: a feature film staring John Malkovich and directed by Steven Bernstein was filmed here in Saint John over the summer, recruiting hundreds of extras and about a dozen crew members.

But now, months later, none have yet seen a cent for their work. Independent filmmaker Nick Leblanc was supposed to be paid $1,000 for three days work as a grip, but that promised paycheque never materialized and his emails went unanswered.

Leblanc says as the months go by with no satisying response, the experience has become a hard lesson about working with people you don’t know.

Earlier this month, the lack of payments had been blamed on an “accounting mishap”; however the funds still have not been recovered.
