Nominations open for Order of Moncton

Do you know of someone who should receive Moncton’s most prestigious and highest-ranking honour?

The city is currently accepting nominations for the Order of Moncton until Sept. 12.

It recognizes citizens for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the city’s social, cultural or economic fabric.

“Nominees must be past or present, long-term residents of Moncton who have brought honour to Moncton on a national or international scale,” the city said in a news release.

Elected representatives currently serving on Moncton City Council or in the provincial legislature, the House of Commons or the Senate, and judges of any court are not eligible.

Nomination forms can be found on the city’s website, and printable applications are available by emailing mayor@moncton.ca.

Recipients will be chosen by the Order of Moncton Selection Committee, which comprises council members, citizens and a staff advisory group.
