No Talk Of Name Change For Cabela’s Court

There’s still shock after the sudden closures of the Moncton Cabela’s store.

It closed its doors yesterday….just 3 years after it opened to the excitement of many outdoor enthusiasts.

In 2015, Moncton City Council voted to change the name of the street from Portico Street to Cabela’s Court.

City Councillor Paul Pellerin says there is no talk right now of renaming the street.

Customers were turned away from the Cabela’s yesterday by a security guard in the parking lot.

Bass Pro Shops, took over Cabela’s last year. In a statement from the company, they said their location in Dieppe will continue to honour Cabela’s gift cards, returns, warranties and other promotions.

A new Cabela’s location is expected to open in Dartmouth this spring.
