No Suspect Sought After Shooting On West Lane

A 17-year-old boy remains in hospital with critical injuries after a shooting on West Lane in Moncton.

RCMP Corporal Eric Rousselle says officers were called to a multi-unit residence at around 9 am yesterday morning.

A search warrant was obtained for a residence and the firearm was located inside.

Rousselle adds they are not actively looking for a suspect.

It is being investigated as careless use of a firearm.

Police were on scene until around 6 pm last night.

Rousselle adds that the incident did not meet the criteria for an alert, as there was no risk to the public.
