Ground has been broken on a new $16.6 million dollar operations centre in Riverview, just east of Gunningsville Boulevard on Robertson Street.
The ops centre will replace the existing public works garage on Pine Glen Road which was built in the 1970s.
Town officials say Riverview has grown tremendously since then with increased services to residents.
The consolidated centre will include an office building, fleet storage space, maintenance shops, service bays and secure yard facilities.
It is set to open in the fall of next year.
