A pair of new public housing developments are now open in Dieppe.
The two 10-unit, single-bedroom complexes will improve access to safe, affordable housing for seniors.
These latest units are the result of a partnership between the City of Dieppe and the New Brunswick Housing Corporation.
“The Greater Moncton area is the most impacted by the housing crisis in New Brunswick,” said Housing Minister David Hickey.
“We are building new public housing units at a rate this province may not have seen before.”
Hickey added these new units are a significant step toward providing the foundation of affordable housing the community needs.
There are currently more than 4,600 public housing units across New Brunswick, with more on the way.
Since the New Brunswick Housing Corporation was re-established as a Crown corporation in 2023, it has built 210 new public housing units; it has 91 others in progress, with 139 more in the design phase.
The corporation is working with municipalities across the province to understand their affordable housing needs.
