East End And Centennial Beach Pools In Moncton Nearing Completion

Two long awaited pools in the City of Moncton are expected to open in the coming weeks.

The City provided an update today on construction.

Spokesperson Isabelle Leblanc says both projects are in the final stages despite weeks of nasty weather in both the winter and the spring.

With an early snowfall in October and an extremely wet spring, that slowed down construction.

Leblanc says final touches are currently being put on the East End pool, and on the areas surrounding the pool.

As for Centennial Beach, the final coating on the pool surface could not be done because of the heavy rain over the past few weeks, and landscaping still needs to be done, but Leblanc adds, the nice weather means that work can be rescheduled.

It is expected opening dates for both facilities will be known in the near future.
