New Municipal Councils For Westmorland County

The following are unofficial results for the 2021 Municipal Elections in Westmorland County.

Beaubassin East

Louise Landry came out on top in the race for Mayor of Beaubassin East defeating three opponents including former mayor Ronnie Duguay.

There were 14 candidates in the running for the six councillor positions

Cap-Pelé

The village will see another term with Serge Leger at the helm due to him being acclaimed.

Four new councillors have been chosen to represent Cap-Pelé including Wendy Bourque, Rachel Boudreau, Eric J. LeBlanc, and Louis Leger while Yvonne LeBlanc is the sole incumbent councillor.

Dorchester

Debbie Darlene Wiggins-Colwell captured the title of mayor by a large margin.

Half of the councillors electedin Dorchester are incumbent, including Robert Corkerton and Benjamin Edgett. In addition, Michael Gillespie and Kara Becker have also been elected

Memramcook

Maxime Bourgeois received nearly triple the votes of his competitor Raoul Bodreau in the Hunt for Mayor of Memramcook.

There will be three new councillors for Memramcook as Yanic Vautour, Normand Dupuis and Carole Duguay has been unofficially elected. Meanwhile, Marc Boudreau, Mariane Cullen and Brian Cormier will all return as councillors.

Petitcodiac

Daniel Pollock received over 400 votes to be unofficially elected the Mayor of Petitcodiac.

There were just six candidates in the running for five seats in Petitcodiac. The new councillors will be as follows: Peter J. Saunders, Gerald W. Robinson, Dennis Ashley Murphy, Gerald A.W. Gogan, and Laurie Stewart.

Port Elgin

The race for Mayor of Port Elgin was tight although Jason Davis Stokes pulled ahead of opponent Tanya Trenholm.

All of the Port Elgin Councillors have been acclaimed with Brenda Jones, Stacy Jones, Jan Legere, and Kerry C. Phibbs.

Sackville

Shawn Mesheau is set to become the next Mayor of Sackville after receiving over 1000 votes.

Sackville City Council had eight seats to fill and it appears that six will be filled by returning councillors. Andrew John Black, Allison E. Butcher, Michael J. Tower, Bruce I. Phinney and Bill Evans will return to council, while Matt Estabrooks, Kenneth A. Hicks and Sabine Dietz are new to council.

Salisbury

In Salisbury Robert Campbell has been elected mayor by acclamation.

The five councillors that will represent Salisbury are Stephanie Thorne, Douglas Edward Hamer, Jason V. Gallant, Sarah T. Colwell and Nathan R. O’Blenis.

Shediac

Roger Caissie has retained his role as Mayor with a victory over Leo Doiron.

Five of the eight councillors elected are incumbent including Paul R. Boudreau, Germaine Gallant, Patricia Bourque-Chevarie, Sylvie C. Boudreau, and Jean Claude Bertin. New Councillors appear to be Janice Cormier, Peter Breau and Emile J. O’Brien.
