A new group day pass is saving Codiac Transpo users money.
Senior Transit Planner Marie-Claire Pierce says the $14 pass can be used by a group of five people for unlimited rides throughout one day.
She says there is a slight catch.
“Now they have to board all together of course, because they only have one pass, so that one pass gets all five folks on,” says Pierce. “In some cases it would be even advantageous even for 2 people, or 3 people that are traveling together if they are planning to use the service quite a bit.”
Pierce says it’s a great deal for families, tourists or even just friends out for a day together.
“It’s unlimited rides throughout the day but you can buy it at any time, it’s when you activate it, it becomes a time expired item,” says Pierce. “Once they get on the bus, the driver will activate it for the day, and then that way they can use it for the entire day and then it expires after the service is finished for the day.”
She adds it’s going to be a permanent offering, and is available wherever bus passes are sold.
