The water levels continue to rise in Fredericton.
The New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization has issued the evacuation of several parking areas in the capital city because of flooding.

While waiting for a flight home from the US, Premier Brian Gallant told Reporters, “It’s important that all New Brunswickers take note…especially if they live near the St John River, “It’s important for residents to be aware of any flooding that is currently happening or the potential of flooding that could happen. Things like going to higher ground if your property is near a waterway of it is prone to flooding.”
Fredericton has passed flood stage and Jemseg and Maugerville are expected to follow by Saturday.

“People should be aware if they are driving where there is water covering the road, that there could be pot holes or other things that they should drive very carefully and limit their travel,” Gallant adds.

Officials from the New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization are advising residents from the northwestern point of the province to Quispamsis to be on alert.
New Brunswickers are encouraged to keep a close eye on River Watch and the New Brunswick EMO.
