New Brunswickers In Tokyo For Summer Olympics

Eight New Brunswick athletes, coaches and officials will take part in the Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

-Geneviève Lalonde from Moncton will compete in athletics.
-Catharine Pendrel from Harvey will compete in mountain biking.
-Jill Irving from Moncton will serve as an alternate in equestrian.
-Mike Butler from Saint John will serve as a badminton coach.
-Jessica Sears from Memramcook will serve on the medical team as a massotherapist.
-Eric Desroches from Edmundston and Gérald Arsenault from Quispamsis will be officials for badminton.
-Bob Stanton from Fredericton will be the director of referees for softball

Minister of Tourism, Heritage and Culture Tammy Scott-Wallace says these individuals have made difficult sacrifices and are incredible role models for all New Brunswickers.

The Olympics officially gets underway on July 23 and runs until August 8th
