New Brunswickers are once again lending a hand to fight forest fires outside of the province.
The Department of Natural Resources has sent eight people to Idaho to provide support.
They’ll be involved in helping to create daily operational plans, assisting in finances and helping to manage the large number of firefighters.
Fires in Idaho have consumed more than 400, 000 acres of land. There are nearly 29, 000 firefighters battling the fires across the state.
This isn’t the first time New Brunswickers have helped out in this capacity.
About 75 New Brunswick firefighters participated in two-week missions in the western Canadian provinces this summer.
