New Brunswick RCMP Is Urging Everyone To Make Responsible Choices This Long Weekend

The RCMP are reminding people to be safe and obey the law this long weekend.

New Brunswick RCMP Media Relations Officer Jullie Rogers-Marsh says people should be vigilant when driving this weekend.

“To make good responsible choices if you’re planning on partaking in drinking over the long weekend, make sure you have a plan, and have a designated driver, and don’t get behind the wheel if you’ve been drinking,” says Rogers-Marsh.

She says the majority of causes for fatal accidents so far this year in the province have been impaired driving or not wearing a seatbelt.

Rogers-Marsh urges everyone to make good choices wherever they choose to celebrate.

“Be responsible, follow the rules, boating safety rules, if you’re on the road, follow the rules of the road, and be vigilant,” says Rogers-Marsh. “And if people are travelling to make sure they are travelling the speed limit and everybody is buckled up.”
