New Brunswick Firefighters Kept Busy This Weekend

It’s been a busy weekend for New Brunswick firefighters after at least four fires across the province.

Firefighters in Moncton were called to a two-storey home on Bromley Avenue around 4:15 p.m. yesterday.

Platoon chief Brian Gaudet tells us a fire in a second-floor room was extinguished within five minutes, and one resident was checked over by paramedics for smoke inhalation.

Gaudet says the cause of the fire is still under investigation but it’s not believed to be suspicious.

Meanwhile, one woman escaped injury after fire damaged a side apartment of a home in Saint-Léonard, near Grand Falls, on Friday evening.

Another fire northeast of Sussex on Friday night forced a woman from a mobile home, which was destroyed by the flames.

And in Fredericton, an adult and two children were unhurt after fire damaged a two-storey home last evening.
