New Brunswick Businesses Head To Boston For Seafood Expo

More than a dozen New Brunswick businesses are off to North America’s largest seafood show in Boston this week.

Premier Brian Gallant and Aquaculture and Fisheries Minister Rick Doucet are leading the delegation to Seafood Expo North America.

About 20,000 people will take part in the three-day event, including buyers and suppliers of fresh, frozen, packaged and value-added seafood products.

Gallant says in a news release that New Brunswick’s fish and seafood sectors are important economic drivers for our province.

New Brunswick is Canada’s second-largest exporter of fish and seafood with more than $1.7 billion in product sold.

Doucet says in the release the companies have earned their spot at dinner tables far and wide thanks to their commitment to quality.
