A cross-Canada celebration called Garden Days is underway this week.
It’s designed to celebrate the role that gardening plays in our lives and communities.
Maritime spokesperson Niki Jabbour says visit your local garden centre and ask lots of questions if you have ideas.
“It does pay to ask questions. If you have a shady area and you buy plants, if they are not for your shady conditions they are all going to die. So you have to make sure you buy the right plants for the right spot,” she notes.
Jabbour says this is a great time to think about planting because many garden centres are offering discounts.
