Necropsy On North Atlantic Right Whale To Be Done In Nova Scotia

A Canadian Coast Guard Vessel has located a dead North Atlantic Right Whale in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and it is being towed toward Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

The sighting of the whale was reported last week.

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans is working with marine mammal experts and they hope to a perform the necropsy this morning.

It could take several months before all results on a cause of death are known.
