Nearly $18 million has been announced for infrastructure projects, fire halls, and municipalities with higher populations.
The provincial and federal government have earmarked $5.93 million for infrastructure upgrades throughout New Brunswick.
That includes $3.7 million to resurface eight rural chip seal roads and $670,000 to improve trails in provincial parks.
A total of $200,000 has also been set aside for upgrades at the New Brunswick Railway Museum in Hillsborough.
Meanwhile, more than $5.2 million has been allocated for new or modernized fire department halls in several communities, including Coles Island, Penobsquis, Baie-Sainte-Anne and Deer Island.
It also includes previously-announced funding for fire halls in Miscou, New Bandon-Salmon Beach, Saint-Sauveur, Sunny Corner, Welsford, Rollingdam, Whie Head, Jemseg and Renous-Quarryville.

The remaining $6.75 million will be distributed to eligible local governments that saw their populations increase as a result of local governance reform in January. More details can be found here.
