MONCTON, N.B. – Newly released figures from Stats Canada show an increase in New Brunswick’s unemployment rate.
The rate rose by four tenths of a point in July to 10 %.
That’s a higher rate than initially reported when the federal agency said there was an error in its figures released last week.
New Brunswick lost the equivalent of 3,400 jobs according to the corrected report.
Metro Moncton’s jobless rate fell one-10th of a point to 5.9 %.
Nationally, the unemployment rate declined by a tenth of a point to 7 %, due to an increase in overall employment.
