NB Unemployment Rate Drops

The unemployment rate in New Brunswick dropped to 8.2 percent in February – almost a full percentage point from January – according to the latest figures from Statistics Canada.

Employment in the province increased by 5,100 jobs, most of which were full-time.

However, on a year-over-year basis, StatsCan says employment in the province barely changed.

The national jobless rate fell slightly to 5.8 percent last month.
