NB Gas Prices Take Another Dip This Week

If you held off until today to fill up, you’re in luck.

The maximum price of regular self serve dipped 3.3 cents a litre overnight.

You’ll notice stations are selling for around 99.1 cents a litre this morning.

Senior petroleum analyst Dan McTeague with Gasbuddy.com says it’s very unusual to see decreases like this in the summer months, “It suggests that the lower price of oil is really creeping into gasoline supplies which are now far more abundant than anyone had thought.”

McTeague says we are paying about 13 to 14 cents per litre less this summer as compared to last, and even lower prices if you look at a couple of years ago, “If you go back to 2014 at this time, we’re about 28 cents a litre less. So, it’s pretty good news for motorists and for consumers who are saving between 10 and 20 dollars a fill up, depending on how much gas you are getting.”

Diesel and furnace oil prices also dipped overnight. They’re both down over 2.5 cents a litre.
